Al Wahda FC clinched the UAE League Cup title after defeating Al Ain FC on penalties following a goalless draw in the final held at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
The match ended 0-0 in regular time, with both sides failing to capitalize on their attacking opportunities despite entering the final as two of the competition’s most prolific teams.
Egypt international Ramy Rabia started the match for Al Ain, contributing defensively throughout the game before the contest was ultimately decided from the penalty spot.
The final marked the 25th match of the tournament this season, which had produced 71 goals prior to the showdown, with only three matches ending without goals.
Historically, the two sides have shared a competitive rivalry in the competition’s finals. Al Ain won their first meeting in the 2008–2009 season, while Al Wahda claimed victory in the 2023–2024 edition. The latest triumph adds another chapter to their closely contested history and tips the balance slightly in Al Wahda’s favor.
