President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that the Nile River is the lifeline for the Egyptian people, noting that more than 98% of the country's water needs come from this river.

These statements came during his speech at the "Cairo Water Week" conference, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of preserving this vital resource, explaining that protecting the Nile waters is a fateful issue that requires a permanent political commitment, as well as close cooperation with neighboring countries to ensure the continuity of this essential resource.

President El-Sisi pointed out that water is the basis of life and a fundamental pillar for all aspects of development and progress.

El-Sisi added, "Today we send a message to the entire world from the land of Egypt, which God has given the great Nile River, that water is a right for every human being on this planet, and it must be given greater value on the international agenda, given its importance in the lives of peoples and the development of societies."
