The Secretary-General's spokesperson, Jamal Rushdi, stated that the meeting addressed developments in the Palestinian situation, ways to solidify the two-state solution on the international agenda, and mechanisms for translating international positions supporting the Palestinian people and rejecting Israeli brutality into tangible political gains.
Moreover, Aboul Gheit emphasized the importance of a swift transition to the second phase of the Trump plan, while remaining vigilant against Israel's ongoing attempts to stall in order to maintain the status quo and avoid withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
Aboul Gheit further stressed the importance of the international community confronting these schemes and halting any attempts to circumvent the political process, thereby ensuring the protection of Palestinian rights and preventing the imposition of new realities on the ground.
Moreover, Aboul Gheit listened to Rajoub's vision regarding actions that could be taken in the coming period to strengthen the position of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and preserve its role as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
