"President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stood up, in more than one situation, in front of Western public opinion, giving lessons in the concept of human rights," said Bahjat Al-Obeidi, founder of the International Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad.
Al-Obeidi, who is also an Egyptian writer residing in Austria, added that perhaps it is unforgotten the reply of President El Sisi to a French journalist during a press conference at the Elysee Palace in October 2017, when he said that the interest in education and health and security – is among the basic needs of the people and perhaps the most important rights of any human being.
Al-Obeidi considered the reply of President El Sisi as a hard lesson to the French journalist at the time, and his response was compelling to those who wanted to speak up about human rights under President El Sisi, who took power in a very difficult time for Egypt.
On another hand, Al-Obeidi considered that the recent statement of the Working Group on the International Review of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Egypt was fair because of its facts confirming Egypt's keenness to promote human concepts and copy them from non-politicized human rights organizations.
He hailed the members of the Egyptian Permanent Mission to the Nations, who were able to represent Egypt in the best way and defended, and uprooted all allegations and lies about Egypt.
