The third installment in the Egyptian actor Ahmed El Sakka-lead "AlJazeera" (The Island) franchise has finally begun pre-production, becoming one step closer to coming into the light.
Released in 2007, the first film follows Mansour taking charge as the leader of a drug cartel in Upper Egypt and setting his own rules after the death of his father, but the unresponsive government of the land soon springs into action against him.
The second entry was released in 2014 and sees Mansour al Hanafi escape prison to the island after the January 25 Revolution, only to find Sheikh Khaled emerged changing the balance of power.
The cast also stars the likes of Hend Sabry, the late Khaled Saleh, Khaled El Sawy, Nidal Al-Shafi’i, Arwa Gouda, Ahmed Malek, Samy Maghawry, Mohamed El Tagy, and more.
El Sakka, born on March 1, 1973, is an Egyptian actor. He graduated from the Academy of Arts.
He began his acting career with appearances in Egyptian mini-series and ended up co-starring in many famed Ramadan series.
Early in his career, El Sakka appeared in popular series such as “Nesf Rabeea El-Akhar”, "Nsf Rbye Alakhar", "Wamin Aldhy la Yuhibu Fatma?", "Tarwid Alsharisa", "Helm El Ganouby", and "Zayzinia S1".
He established himself as an actor in 1998 when he co-starred in the film “Saeedi Fil Gamaa El Amrekeia” (Saeedi in the American University).
In 2000, the actor received his first leading film role in “Short wi Fanila wi Cap” (Short, T-Shirt and Cap).
