Al-Azhar mourned on Monday the former Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs of Palestine and the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque HE Sheikh Youssef Salama.

It said the late Minister spent his life serving the message of Islam and ‎preaching it and teaching Islamic sciences at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. Sheikh Salama fell a ‎martyr as a result of a cowardly terrorist raid on his home in Al-Maghazi Camp, Gaza.‎

Al-Azhar firmly condemns this treacherous terrorist aircraft attack by the occupying Zionist ‎enemy on Sheikh Salama’s house.

It also condemns all the genocidal operations that target our ‎steadfast brotherly people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the crimes of the Zionist entity, the ‎cowardly massacres they commit, and their blind terrorism are all miserable attempts that will not ‎shake the determination, patience, strength or perseverance of the Palestinian people in their ‎defense their lands, their sanctities, and the sanctities of the nation.‎

Al-Azhar extends sincere condolences to the family of Sheikh Youssef Salama and all our ‎brotherly Palestinian people, and the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation, asking Allah ‎Almighty to accept the deceased and the rest of the Palestinian martyrs among the martyrs and ‎the righteous in heaven and grant them the highest dwelling in Paradise, to hasten the cessation ‎of this bloody aggression, to bring an end to the Zionists aggression against the innocent ‎Palestinians, and to bring peace and mercy to the land of Palestine and the Palestinian people.‎
