On Monday, Al Ahly's Amir Tawfik announced that the club signed Palestinian forward Wessam Abu Ali, the star of Sweden's Sirius, as part of the club's winter transfers.
Tawfik added that the star passed the first medical exams of the club, and he managed to extract a Palestinian passport.
According to EFA rules, the Palestinian players didn't count in the enlisted number of the team's foreign players.
Earlier, the Swedish Fotbolldirekt newspaper highlighted that the player will join Al Ahly after the Swedish club had a historical deal from Al Ahly, adding that the negotiations successfully concluded after the confirmation of Marcel Koller to sign with the player.
The outlet added that Al Ahly bought the Palestinian star with €2 million, and 10-15% of the sum will go to the player's former club Denmark's Vendsyssel.
