Ajax of Amsterdam set a new record in the Dutch football league (Erepisie), after crushing VVV Venlo 13-0, Saturday, after seven players participated in the scoring festival.

The previous record in the Dutch league was also held by Ajax when they beat Vitesse 12-1 in 1972.

Lassina Traore, 19, scored five goals and assissted three more, to give Ajax complete control from the match start till the final whistle.

"Compliments to the team. They were hungry -- 13-0, a very good victory indeed, a new record. VVV has shown this season that they are capable of getting good results, we've seen that this season already, but it is our accomplishment. We have forced this ourselves." Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag said.

Venlo's Christian Kum was dismissed at the 52nd minute, after the VAR referee upgraded his yellow card for violent conduct to a red.

"I really don't have much to say. A total off day. We had too much respect for Ajax. We have it made too easy. We have failed. But no one passed away today. It is a match. We have lost. And it is a historic loss, but we need to take it as a man. Head up, chest out." Venlo coach Hans de Koning said.

This win sends Ajax to the top of the Erepisie after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League days ago.
