Remarkable Egyptian actor Ahmed Khalil died in the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, after a long struggle with Covid-19 complications, the head of Egyptian Actors Syndicate Ashraf Zaky confirmed.

During the filming of 'Hekaity M'a ElZaman" series starring renowned actress Mervat Amin, Khalil told his colleagues that he's dying from the Coronavirus, according to Egyptian media.

The iconic star, who died early this day, was born on 15 January 1941 in Mansoura City, the countryside city considered the cradle of Eastern heritage and literature during the Middle Ages.

He moved to Cairo in the 1960s where he started his college studies at Theater Institute, in the field of acting, and then he got married to renowned Egypt's actress Sohair Elbably with whom he had his daughter, Niven.

Furthermore, Khalil established his acting career in the late 1960s after completing his university degree.

Khalil worked much of his adult life from a young age until age 81. He was a hardworking, determined, self-taught, self-made inpidual, somewhat of a trailblazer for his time. The late actor was quiet but yet tough, full of grit and determination, his family always came first, and above all Khalil was a caring, gentleman that everyone loved.

Although Khalil often played toughs and strongmen, in his actual life he was an elegant man with a brilliant intellect who loved to argue about our history and current affairs, discuss the industry issues, and assert fine-pointed opinions about art and novels, according to the critics and filmmakers.

Throughout his lengthy career in Egyptian Entertainment, he portrayed a perse range of characters on the big and small screens including Kawkab Al-Sharq, Hoda we Ma'aly Elwazir, and 'Fakh El-Gwases'.

Because of his role in the classic "Naser 57" from 1996, he was regarded as one of the important faces of the historical film movement. The actor has starred in dozens of films, including “Al-Aragoz (The puppeteer), A Victim of Love, The Rogues, Convergence, and Doctor Hussni Tragedy.

The remarkable actor was one of the most successful, rare Egyptian actors, with over 50 films and 70 television series to his name.

Alongside his theater and cinema works, Khalil was also well-known for his seminal roles in popular television series such as: "AntaraSuleiman Al-Halabi, Hoanem Garden City 1, Bwabit Al-Halawany 3, and Dreams of A Lifetime.

Moreover, he is known for joint collaborations and associations with legendary Egyptian stars like Omar Elsherif, Yousra, Elham Shahin, and Mervat Amin.

The death of Khalil has also caused quite a stir inside the film world and showbiz. His colleagues like Nabil Al Helfawi and Samih El-Selity as well as other actors praised the late actor as the "The Genius" and the most acclaimed actor’ in his generation.
