Egyptian police have detained the son of Ahmed Hossam Mido in Cairo’s Fifth Settlement district on suspicion of drug possession, according to security sources.
The arrest was carried out by Interior Ministry personnel, who reportedly found the suspect in possession of a quantity of illegal substances.
He was taken to a local police station in the Fifth Settlement area, where legal procedures are being initiated.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The suspect is expected to be referred to the public prosecution for further questioning.
Ahmed Hossam Mido is a former player for Zamalek SC and the Egypt national team.
