Parliament Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein mourned the death of Major-General Kamal Amer, Chairman of parliament's Defense and National Security Committee, who passed away earlier today, Thursday.
"Amer was one of Egypt's loyal men, who sincerely served his country as a soldier, governor, and member of parliament (MP)," Abou El-Enien posted on his "Facebook" official page.
The lawmaker also praised Amer's tireless parliamentary efforts to support the Egyptian armed forces and policemen in defending the country and preserving its security, peace, and stability.
"May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Abou El-Enein said.
It is worth mentioning that, Amer held many posts including, former governor of Aswan and Marsa Matrouh, and former director of military intelligence.
