In his speech during the parliament’s plenary session on discussing a draft law submitted by the government to amend some provisions, relating to cotton, of Law No. 106 of 1973 , Abou El-Enein added:” Cotton is a strategic crop for the state and also for the citizen as well, as many industries are depending on it, but it was affected by agricultural practices and manipulation in the markets,” pointing out that the most expensive clothing products are made of "Egyptian cotton".

The Parliament deputy speaker noted that the global markets that were competing us began to withdraw, therefore we must develop strategic plans for the producing and marketing Egyptian cotton.

“Fortunately, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has begun to establish specialized industrial zones, thus we will manufacture everything that is produced in Egypt.,” Abou El-Enein stressed. “We stress the importance of the law, therefore I declare my initial approval of the draft law."
