Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou el-Enein sent an important message to the American public, during his virtual speech before the National Council on US-Arab Relations (NCUSAR), with the participation of political and military leaders in the Arab region, the Middle East, and the U.S.
Abou El-Enein said that many details are not known to the American public about Egypt, and there are those who deliberately deliver a negative image of the country, at a time when it is taking quantum leaps towards development and growth.
The deputy speaker stressed that the U.S. administration headed by President Joe Biden realized Egypt's important role in the region, especially after it succeeded in making a ceasefire in Gaza, and is about to help reach a settlement between the Palestinians and the Israelis, in addition to its role to help bring peace in Libya and Iraq.
He added that the Egyptian-American partnership is of great importance in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
He confirmed that Egypt had stopped a disaster that was about to happen in Lybia due to the intervention of foreign fighters and ISIS in Libya, saying: "We warned about the situation in Libya and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi set red lines there to preserve the unity of the Libyan people."
Abou El-Enein stressed that Egypt does not interfere in Libya's internal affairs, pointing out that the presence of foreign fighters there threatens the entire region.
