Egypt to Participate in 6th Edn. of Edinburg Int'nal Cultural Conf.

The artist, Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, met with a delegation from the British Council including: Ruth Cocks, Deputy Director of the Council, Cathy Costain, Head of the Arts Department at the Council and Reham Boutros, Director of Arts Programs.

During the meeting, the official invitation to Egypt was delivered on behalf of the Scottish Parliament, the Government of the United Kingdom and the Government of Scotland to participate in the activities of the sixth edition of the Edinburgh International Conference for Culture - to be held in the Scottish

Parliament from 26 to 28 August.

Abdel Dayem stressed that the invitation confirms Egypt's civilized value regionally and internationally, and she indicated that it is the first official participation of the ministry of culture in this conference, noting that the meeting dealt with the ways of cooperation between the two sides through many future creative projects.

She added that the participating delegation reflects the multiple facets of the distinctive Egyptian creativity of the oldest human civilizations.

She explained that Egypt's soft power is one of the bridges of communication and dialogue with the various societies of the world, noting that the conference comes before "Sharm El Sheikh Climate" Conference -COP 27, which Egypt received its flag from the British government- COP 26.

On his part, the delegation expressed its pride Egypt participation in the conference.

The delegation declared its desire to make the Minister of Culture to lead the Egyptian delegation.

The activities of the conference include several main axes including: culture, education, culture, sustainability and the pressing issues globally.
