Egypt's Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Osama Abdel-Khalek, expressed that the Egyptian government denounces the Israeli military actions in Gaza and the obstruction of humanitarian aid deliveries.
In his address to the UN Security Council, the Egyptian representative urged both Palestinian and Israeli parties to resume negotiations and called upon the Security Council to pass a resolution under Chapter VII to establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, he emphasized the necessity for an end to hostilities in Lebanon and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, highlighting the importance of the international community refraining from endorsing unilateral Israeli actions.
The Egyptian representative also asserted that achieving a just peace is essential for the security of all nations in the region, stating that the time has arrived to conclude the occupation and to implement the two-state solution.
