At least seven people lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out in a South Korean hotel early Friday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight in Bucheon, a suburb located west of the capital, Seoul.
According to reports from South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, the fire began on the eighth floor of a nine-story hotel.
The blaze left at least 12 others injured, three of whom are in critical condition.
Tragically, some victims reportedly jumped from the building's windows in a desperate attempt to escape the flames.
Over 160 firefighters were dispatched to the scene to battle the fire and assist with rescue operations.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing, as authorities work to ensure all individuals are accounted for. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
