7 Killed Due to Heavy Rains in Brazil

Brazilian authorities announced today, Saturday, that at least seven people have lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the American channel ABC, a 4-year-old girl was rescued after spending over 16 hours trapped under mud in the city of Petropolis, located 69 kilometers north of Rio de Janeiro. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to reach those affected by the heavy rains.

Brazilian authorities have reported the rescue of approximately 100 individuals.
