Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) issued Annual bulletin of Land reclamation for 2021/2022 the most important indicators are as follows:
Total area of reclaimed land reached 163.2 thousand feddans in 2021/2022 compared to 87.1 thousand feddans in 2020/2021 an increase by 87.3 % due to increase in reclaimed area in private sector this year.
Area of private sector companies reached 133 thousand feddans, by 81.4%, then land area of cooperative societies was 25.4 thousand feddans, by 15.5%, then are of General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development was 5 thousand by 3.1% of total area of reclaimed lands in 2021 / 2022.
The cultivated area of 1.5 million feddan project reached 136.5 thousand feddans in 2021/2022, compared to 140 thousand feddans in 2020/2021, a decrease by 2.2% compared to the previous year, while the reclaimed area reached 537.1 thousand feddans, where Matrouh Governorate ranked first, as the reclaimed area reached 198.1 thousand feddans by 36.9%, followed by Minia governorate with an area of 175.6 thousand feddans by 32.7%, then New Valley governorate with an area of 17.6 thousand feddans by 3.3%, then Aswan governorate with an area of 55 thousand feddans by 10.2%.
Area on which livestock projects were established (milk production, fattening, cattle and sheep) from reclaimed land reached to 154 feddans in 2021 / 2022, compared to 136 feddans in 2020/ 2021, increased by 13.2%.
