500 Democrats Sign Message Urges Biden to Hold Israel Accountable, Protect Palestinians

More than 500  US democrats have signed a message urging US President Joe Biden to exert more efforts to hold Israel accountable protect the human rights of the Palestinian people.

Signatories of the message pointed out the disproportionate number of causalities between the Palestinians and Israelis during the latest escalation in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and behind the Green Line.

The message was signed by staffers and organizers who worked in the headquarters of the Democratic Party and in twenty-two states over the presidential campaign of 2020.

Heba Mohamed, a Palestinian-American civil servant, and manager of the digital organizing in the Democratic party in Wisconsin State during the last presidential election said over a statement to the Washington Post, that President Joe Biden should work to do what the best as the ceasefire after recent escalation is welcomed but the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank continues.

The signatories of the message grilled Israel for the blockade of the West Bank and Gaza, mass arrest, raids, ethnic cleansing, illegal occupation for 73 years, and disproportion of the Palestinians.

Meanwhile, the message praised Biden's efforts to broker a temporary peace, the signatories urge the administration to pressure the Israeli government to end the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank and terminate the Israeli violations of the international law.

The signatories also suggested introducing humanitarian measurements in the Gaza Strip and support Palestinian to determine their destiny.

Also, Matan Arad Nieman, a US-Israeli staffer and co-author of the message, condemned the US administration for the ongoing selling of arms to Israel.

He indicated the last bargain of $ 735 million to Israel that has recently been green-lighted by Biden.

Nieman added that he felt horror at the daily nightmare showed in the Israeli occupation and apartheid.

Nieman added that the American failure to abide by human rights violations committed by the Israeli government, all while the administration continues to sell weapons to Israel, does not help my family in Israel or keep them safe."
