The Pakistan Army has reported the deaths of five soldiers after a landmine explosion targeted a security forces vehicle during a clearance operation in the Sherbandi area of Balochistan, south-western Pakistan.
According to a statement from the army’s Inter-Services Public Relations, the explosion occurred while security personnel were conducting operations to eliminate terrorist hideouts in the region.
The military stressed that such attacks will not undermine the resolve of the security forces but will instead strengthen their determination to continue their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Pakistan has witnessed a sharp rise in militant violence in recent months, with most attacks concentrated in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
