At least four workers were killed, and ten others were injured in an explosion at a gas field under construction in Uzbekistan on Tuesday, according to authorities on Wednesday.
The state news agency "Uza" reported that "four specialists lost their lives, and 11 others were injured" in the incident, which took place near the town of Boason in southern Uzbekistan.
This latest incident follows a previous explosion at the same site on September 1, which resulted in the release of deadly hydrogen sulfide gas for two weeks.
About 7,000 workers are involved in building the gas and chemical complex, which is financed by foreign investment.
Once completed, the facility is expected to produce five billion cubic meters of gas annually.
