China Heilongjiang Province's Harbin will host the Harbin Marathon. It is a major international sporting event, on the last day of summer, according to Dongbeiwang, a partner of TV BRICS.
It is expected that more than 35,000 people will participate in this year's edition. 15,000 will run the full marathon distance of 42.19 kilometres, while the remaining 20,000 will run the half marathon of 21.09 kilometres.
It is noted that this event is held according to world standards and has the gold label of the International Association of Athletics Federations, as well as A1 category according to the rules of the Chinese Association of Athletics.
The route of the competition runs through the iconic places of the locality.
Participants will run past famous monuments and architectural landmarks, familiarising themselves with Harbin's cultural heritage.
The marathon will be a kind of musical and cultural journey through the metropolis known as the City of Music, the Summer Capital of the Ice Region and the Cradle of Olympic Champions. Harbin has also hosted the Asian Winter Games twice.
