The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has Issued the Annual Bulletin on "Agricultural Sector Cooperative Activity in 2020/2021".
The most important indicators are as follows:
• Number of Agricultural Cooperative associations reached 6010 in 2021/2022And occupies the first place as reached 4469 association, a percentage of 74.3%, followed byAgrarian Reform Cooperative Association of 761 association by 12.7%, followed by the Reclaimed Lands Cooperative association of 678 association a percentage of 11.3%, followed by Water Resources Cooperative Association of 102 association and apercentage of 1.7% of the total number of agricultural cooperatives association.
Short, medium and long term total investment loans
• Total investment loans granted to farmers reached 22.4 billion pound in 2021/2022, compared to 19.8 billion pounds in 2020/2021, an increase of 13.1% distributed as follows:
• Short-term loans reached 9.9 billion pound in 2021/2022 compared to 7.6 billion pounds in 2020/2021, an increase of 30.1%.
This is a result of granting a new (ongoing debt owed to the bank's customers) loan amounting to 5.7 billion pounds.
• Total medium-term loans reached 8.5 billion pounds in 2021/2022, compared to 11.3 billion pound in 2020/2021, a decrease of 25.1%.
This is a result of the drop in loans for agricultural-related businesses by 4.0 billion pounds.
• Total long-term loans reached 4.0 Billion pounds in 2021/2022 compared to 0.9 billion pounds in 2020/2021, An increase of 368.4%, due to loans for businesses related to agriculture worth 1.7 billion pounds, as well as loans secured by deposits and various purposes worth 1.1 billion pounds.
