Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that three military personnel sustained minor injuries after debris fell inside Ali Al Salem Air Base during ongoing missile and drone interception operations.
In a statement issued Saturday, Defense Ministry spokesperson Colonel Saud Al-Otaibi said the Kuwaiti Armed Forces continue defensive operations to counter waves of ballistic missile and drone attacks targeting the country’s airspace. He emphasized that the measures fall within the military’s mandate to safeguard Kuwait’s sovereignty and protect national airspace.
According to the ministry, fragments from intercepted missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles landed within the perimeter of Ali Al Salem Air Base, causing limited material damage and minor injuries to three service members. Officials stressed that the incident has not affected operational or combat readiness.
Al-Otaibi stated that Kuwait’s Air Defense units remain actively engaged in intercepting hostile threats through an integrated defense system reflecting high levels of preparedness and coordination across all military branches.
The Armed Forces remain on full alert and ready to respond to any further developments, the ministry added, underscoring Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining national security and stability amid rising regional tensions.
Authorities also urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official sources for updates and avoid spreading unverified information, warning against the circulation of rumors during the ongoing security situation.
