A tragic collision between a pleasure boat and a tugboat in the Seto Inland Sea off Yamaguchi Prefecture in Japan claimed three lives early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred around 5:45 a.m., prompting an emergency call from the tugboat's captain, according to local authorities.
The crash, which led to the sinking of the pleasure boat, resulted in the recovery of four individuals.
Among them, two men and a woman were pronounced dead, while one person sustained minor injuries.
The area had been under a dense fog advisory at the time, which may have contributed to the accident.
