A copyright filing has seemingly revealed the title of Danny Boyle’s long-awaited project  “28 Years Later”.

According to the filing, the sequel is set titled "28 Years Later Part II: The Bone Temple", a title that will undoubtedly spawn all manner of theories about what’s going on in this new trilogy.

There are no actual plot details beyond that it takes place 28 years after the events of the first pic.

Sony Motion Pictures Group chairman Tom Rothman recently described the project as Boyle's being “at his best, combined with a very commercial genre, like we had with Edgar Wright and Baby Driver.”

Rothman also emphasized that the movie is “Not in any way a literal sequel” and vaguely teased that Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy would be involved “in a surprising way and in a way that grows.”

Nia DaCosta previously directed Candyman and The Marvels. She is currently writing, directing, and producing details for the pic Hedda with Tessa Thompson, based on the stage play Hedda Gabler.

The first movie in the trilogy will be directed by Danny Boyle and will also see Alex Garland return to write the screenplay for all entries.

The cast also includes Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Erin Kellyman, Ralph Fiennes, and Jack O’Connell.

There’s no word on who will direct the third entry in the trilogy, but the same production team, including Garland, Boyle, and Murphy, will be on board once more.

“28 Days Later” was released in 2002 and starred a largely unknown Murphy as bike courier Jim who discovers the release of a contagious virus upon awaking from a coma.

Boyle directed the pic from a script by Garland. The sequel, “28 Weeks Later,” was released in 2007.

"28 Years Later" sequel will be released in United States theaters on June 20, 2025.
