Ihab Seif Al-Nasr, a member of the passenger registration committee to Egypt in the municipality of Tobruk, revealed on Tuesday, that the number of Libyan travelers who entered Egypt through the Musaid Border crossing during 2020 reached 2,319.
In a statement to Akhbar Libya 24, Saif Al-Nasr added that the committee stopped registering for 6 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
He noted that the committee is still continuing the registration process for those wishing to travel by land to Egypt, pointing out that the registration of males wishing to travel starts from the age of 18 years to 45 years.
He added that those who are under or over the mentioned age are allowed to travel unconditionally, and this is applied to women and children.
Seif Al-Nasr emphasized that the registration is only available for the citizens of the Eastern Region, from Ras Lanuf in the west to Musaid in the east to Kufra in the south.
He pointed out that students from the western region are allowed to register and travel through the Musaid crossing, and they must bring proof from Egyptian universities
Seif Al-Nasr indicated that the allowed number of travelers from Tobruk municipality is 44 passengers, 22 from Musaid municipality and 22 from Bir passengers per week, and registration starts from Saturday to Thursday.
Saif Al-Nasr explained that what is required to register is a copy of the passport and 20 dinars. The passengers will get a coronavirus detection on the Libyan border for free. They will travel two weeks after registration.
