Morocco booked their place in the knockout stages of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 after a commanding 3–0 victory over Zambia on Monday night at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The match was part of the third and final round of the group stage in the tournament currently being held in Morocco.
The Atlas Lions delivered a dominant performance from the opening minutes, taking an early lead through Ayoub El Kaabi in the ninth minute.

El Kaabi doubled his tally before the break with a second goal in the 27th minute, giving the hosts firm control of the contest.
Early in the second half, Ibrahim Diaz added the third goal in the 50th minute to seal a convincing win for Morocco.
With this result, Morocco finished top of Group A and secured automatic qualification to the round of 16.
The hosts collected seven points from three matches, recording two wins and one draw, scoring six goals and conceding just one in a strong group stage showing.
Zambia were eliminated after finishing fourth in the group with two points.
Mali ended the group phase with three points, while Comoros collected two points, as competition for qualification remained intense until the final round.
