Emergency services are searching for two individuals who went missing amid severe flooding and landslides in the Campania region of Southern Italy, as reported by local firefighting teams late Tuesday.
The missing persons, a woman in her seventies and her son in his forties, were last seen in San Felice a Cancello, near Naples, an area heavily impacted by the landslides.
As of midnight (2200 GMT on Tuesday), the two remain unaccounted for.
According to the Italian news agency ANSA, the heavy rainfall triggered a landslide that struck the town located at the base of a hill.
Firefighters are currently evacuating residents from the affected area.
A yellow alert level has been issued for thunderstorms across most of Central and Southern Italy, including the entire Campania region.
