Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that two people died in a fire that broke out in the Electronics Research Institute building near the Russian capital.
Russian emergency services reported that at least 9 people were trapped on the upper floors of the institute during the fire.
The Ministry of Emergencies said: “According to preliminary information, there are 9 other people in the building... and rescue operations are still continuing.”
"Efforts are focused on saving people and extinguishing the fire in Fryazino," the ministry said. "Work is complicated by high temperatures and dense smoke."
