The first school for teaching "Tahtib" art is getting ready for receiving students who aim to master the arts of "Tahtib."
Located in Qena, the school is aiming to preserve the heritage of Upper Egypt and protect the inherited legacy of Ancient Egyptians who invented and mastered those arts.
The founder of the school Mohamed Abu El Hamad Takroni expressed, "Tahtib is one of the inherited sports from Ancient Egyptians. They were the earliest ones who play this sport as the ancient portraits on the temples' walls depict."
He added Tahtib had special importance in the lives of ancient Egyptians as it was a way to celebrate and meditate too.
The school started accepting the students who want to join its courses and there are 40 students who are already accepted to be the first class in the school.
The term of studying is almost 3 months including theoretical courses alongside training. Moreover, the school has formed its own chorus which aims to revive the folk music heritage of upper Egypt.
