Heavy rainstorms in China's eastern Anhui Province have affected 811,000 residents and forced 195,000 people to evacuate their homes, local authorities reported on Sunday.

The water level in the Yangtze River, China's longest river, has surpassed warning marks in the Anhui section and continues to rise.

Additionally, heavy rainfall has caused water levels in 19 other rivers across the province to exceed alert thresholds.

The Anhui Meteorological Center predicts that heavy rains will continue in areas along and south of the Yangtze River on Monday, further exacerbating the situation.

The ongoing storms and resulting floods have necessitated swift action to ensure the safety of the affected population.

Emergency services are on high alert, providing necessary assistance and evacuation support to those in the impacted regions.
