14 Killed, 20 Injured in University Fire in Iraq

The Directorate of Health in Soran, northern Erbil, announced today, Friday, that 14 people died, and another 18, all students and teachers residing in an internal department, were injured in a fire outbreak at Soran University.

The health directorate reported that the fire erupted within the internal department located in the Soran district. Multiple health and civil defense teams swiftly responded to the scene of the tragedy.

The fire resulted in the tragic loss of 14 lives and inflicted injuries upon 18 others, all of whom were students and teachers residing within the internal department.

This heart-wrenching incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting immediate response efforts from local authorities and rescue teams.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire and to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
