The 12th Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) organizing committee announced honoring actor Mohamed Ramadan, the festival announced on Friday.
The festival said in an announcement: "LAFF12 has proudly announced Mohamed Ramadan as tribute for its 12th edition."
"He became one of the stars of the first row, especially after he starred in a group of films that made him a public star, and his films achieved high revenues, the most important of which were the films (Al-German, Abdo Motta, Lionheart, One Saidi, Tightening Parts), and his success extended to television through the series that he addressed starring such as (Ibn Halal, The Legend)," the statement added.
The upcoming edition will be held under the theme of "Cinema the quest to immortality." It was announced by the festival's Honorary President Mahmoud Hemeida.
30 countries will participate in the 12 edition of the festival including Tunisia, the USA, Nigeria, France, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium.
31 films are competing in the festival's three different competitions: Official Competition, Short Film Competition, and Diaspora Films Competition.
The events of the festival will take place between February 4 to 10.
