Authorities in Gansu Province, located in northwest China, have reported the death of one person and the disappearance of three others due to recent heavy rainfall that has struck the region.
According to Xinhua News Agency, about 192,500 people have been affected across the province.
The fatality was reported in Tongwei County in the city of Dingxi, while the three missing individuals were recorded in Wudu District in the city of Longnan.
From Monday to Wednesday, Gansu experienced its heaviest rainfall this year, marking the most intense downpour since 1961, as per the provincial meteorological office.
Weather forecasts predict that the rain will continue into the coming week, further complicating relief and rescue efforts in the already affected areas.
