Zamalek to Quarter Finals of African Confederates Cup

CAIRO, March.17 (SEE)- El-Zamalek qualified to the quarter finals of the African Confederates Cup after drawing with Algerian Club Nasr Hussein Day 0-0 on Saturday in the 6th match of the group stages.

With the win, Zamalek now qualify top of their table with 9 points, closely followed by Kenyan Club Gor Mahya. The match contained very little offense. Zamalek dominated the ball for the first 30 minutes until the end of the first half of the game.

Zamalek capitalized on their danger in the 37th minute after  Hamid Ahmad placed a corner kick from the right side, which was received by Ferjani Sassi with a header towards the far post but narrowly missed the goal.

The most dangerous chances of the game came for Nasr Hussein Day in the 42nd minute after a mistake by Mahmoud Alaa, but Genesh managed to deflected the ball into a corner.

The second half saw very little chances from both sides, with Nasr Hussein Day showing very little effort to fulfill their qualifying hopes.
