Egyptian archaeologist, Dr. Zahi Hawass addressed the sparked controversy on social media around the renovation of the historical landmark Pyramid of Menkaure.
Dr. Hawass shut down the claims and noted no one could ever reconstruct the tile of the pyramids.
“Nothing has happened to the Pyramid of Menkaure at all, he said."No stone has been removed or added,” he said.
Dr. Hawass added, “King Menkaure is the only king who covered the pyramid with granite stones, and the stones shown in the circulated videos were never touched,”.
The archaeologist noted that people believed that the covering around the Pyramid of Menkaure was something new, whereas it was something old, as old as the pyramid.
“We did not add anything to the Pyramid of Menkaure,” he assured.
