After a very long wait, Netflix has gifted fans eagerly waiting for the upcoming second season of the Jenna Ortega-led series "Wednesday," with a poster and a release date for the first teaser.
The poster's subtitle reads, "The wait has been tortured." Netflix's official Instagram account teased in the caption, "The suffering ends. The chaos begins." It also promises that the first teaser will come out on April 23, which is fitting, considering that it's a Wednesday.
"Wednesday", produced by Tim Burton (who also directed the first season), was an instant hit upon making its Netflix debut in November 2022.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar created the series, which follows the titular Wednesday (Ortega) as she navigates her teenage years at Nevermore Academy.
Ortega, 22, starred alongside Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Moosa Mostafa, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, all of whom are set to return for season 2.
Additions to the cast include Billie Piper as Capri, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.
"Wednesday" Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
