UPC: Cooperating With Cairo Will Pay Off

BARCELONA, Dec. 1 (SEE) - The President of Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - UPC) Dr. Francis Turis emphasized that the cooperation with Cairo will pay off in the upcoming years.

Dr. Turis explained that the cooperation agreement which was signed by his institution with the European University in Egypt (to be located at the new administrative capital) will be followed by further meetings, agreements and mutual visits.

His talk came during the signing of the cooperation agreement which took place at Barcelona city, Spain, and was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Hashem, founder and head of trustees board at the European University, Dr. Juan Jesus Perez, vice president of the UPC and Dr. Felix Solaguren, dean of faculty of Architecture.

Dr. Turis added that the education in Egypt is a promising sector and will develop new prospects during the next years. “I’m very pleased that we will be part of that progress,” he added.

Dr. Turis hailed the accuracy of work at the European University as well as the certain will of achieving common goals during the upcoming time.

For his part, Dr. Solaguren explained that the agreement included exchanging experiences at both universities, as well as exchanging visits for students and staff members. “We are happy to cooperate with Egypt where some of the most clever engineers in the world are graduated,” he added.

Dr. Solaguren noted that the agreement also guarantees providing the academic programs at UPC for the students at the European University.
