CAIRO Aug 8 SEE – Telecom Egypt signed an agreement with India Airtel on Monday to enhance cooperation in the maritime cable field.
The Indian company will get indefeasible right of use "IRU" on the Middle East, North Africa Submarine Cable "MENA Cable" and TE North Cable Systems, Telecom Egypt reported.
The agreement will enable Airtel to further persify its global network to meet growing demands with its data services, particularly in emerging markets across South Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The partnership grants Airtel right to use fibre pairs of MENA Cable from Egypt to India with access to Saudi Arabia and Oman, and other fibre pairs from Egypt to Italy.
