Pyramids Rebounds to Defeat El-Ahly with 2 Goals to 1

CAIRO, Jan.4 (SEE)- Pyramids rebounded after sustaining a goal to hand El Ahly a 2-1 defeat in the postponed game of the eighth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The win lifted Pyramids to 33 points maintaining second place behind leaders Zamalek by 5 points, while El-Ahli stood at 24 points in sixth place, with two postponed games yet to be played.

El-Ahli controlled the midfield early on, but formed little danger to Pyramids's goal, amid attempts by Ramadan Subhi to break through from the left. Walid Azaro wasted a chance to score in the 24th minute after a pass from Amr Sulayy inside the penalty area.

The first goal of the match came when Ramadan Sobhi ran on the left to pass the ball to Ali Maaloul, who sent a serious cross to Walid Azaro who headed the ball into the net of Ahmed Al-Shennawi in the 33rd minute.

Pyramids then equalized through a free kickCross from the newly acquired Abdallah El-Saeed into the head of Mohamed Farouk and through El-Ahly's empty net, after Mohamed El-Shenawy's false intervention.

El-Saeed scored the winning goal for Pyramids after blasting the ball though goal giving his team the victory.
