CAIRO, AUG 18 (SEE) Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq ordered on Saturday the prosecution of Seif Eddin Mostafa, EgyptAir plane hijacker, after his extradition from Cyprus.
Mostafa hijacked the plane using a fake suicide belt, forcing the pilot to alternate landing destination.
The hijacker demanded political asylum, meeting his wife who lives in Cyprus, and the release of political prisoners in Egypt.
upon arrival, Cypriot police arrested the hijacker with no casualties on board.
A security mission from the Egyptian Interpol Police Department traveled to the Cypriot capital of Nicosia and returned the hijacker to Cairo.
