PM Stresses Importance of “Time”, “Completion” in Organizing AFCON 2019

CAIRO, Jan. 16 (SEE) – PM Dr. Mustafa Madbouli affirmed today the significance of preparing for the organization of the African Cup of Nations Cup 2019.

During the cabinet meeting, PM pointed out to the importance of “time” and “completion”, as the remaining time presses for cooperation between all sides until the event comes out in an optimal manner.

Dr. Madbouli pointed out that the Minister of Planning has been assigned to allow all investments and funding needed for the rehabilitation of sports facilities that will host the activities of the tournament, as well as preparing all the participating cities for the tournament.

He announced as well that coordination between the armed forces and the police will be there to provide full security for the events of the tournament, so as to show to the whole world that Egypt is able to organize tournaments and international events. He noted about the significance of making use of the tournament in fields of tourism, culture and economy.

The PM added that a higher committee will be formed under his chairmanship and membership of a number of relevant ministers, beside the Organizing Committee, and will follow up all the details of the tournament.

On the other hand, Dr. Madbouli hailed the meeting held by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with the governor and officials of the New Valley governorate, as a beginning of a series of meetings with the leaders of various governorates. He also urged the speedy implementation of the President’s instructions during this meeting. Among those instructions, was constructing a unified complex that includes the headquarters of the government departments to provide services to citizens, as well as maximize the benefits agricultural and livestock production at the governorate.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister affirmed the continuation of the State’s efforts to achieve more concrete steps in achieving social justice. He pointed out that the Presidential initiative “A Good life” recently announced by El Sisi, to improve the economic and social aspects of life for the poorest areas, is under progress. In this regard, the Minister of Endowment said that 100 million pounds were allocated from the ministry to support the initiative.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouli also pointed to the continued efforts of the state to support the campaign to reduce the population increase and raise awareness of the its negative effects. He pointed out this campaign targets the poorest and the most fertile areas, by correcting the social conceptions which lead families to frequent childbearing, as well as to start door visits through associations, to deliver awareness to a larger segment of citizens to control the increase in population.
