CAIRO, AUG 10 (SEE) Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli held on Thursday a meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Economic Affairs.

The meeting tackled the follow-up of reducing the public debt, the proposals on the internal, and external debt structure and the strategy of dealing with it in the medium term with the aim of reducing it steadily.

The Minister of Planning Hala El-Said presented the current situation of the Egyptian economy and the expected developments and growth rates over the next five years.

On the other hand, Finance Minister Amr El-Garhy presented proposals for the reduction of public debt, taking into account that the past fiscal year has seen a downward trend, which can be built on to reach the goal of debt reduction.

Madbouli stressed that public debt is one of the vital issues in the coming period.

"an advanced vision should address public debt while maintaining the desired economic growth rate," he said.
