On Monday, former US President Barack Obama warned Israel of the consequences of inhumane actions against Palestinian civilians, as the victims of Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip rose to 5,078 dead, including 2,055 children.
Obama wrote, in an article published on the Medium platform: “Thousands of Palestinians have already been killed during the Gaza raids, many of them children. Hundreds of thousands have been forced to leave their homes.”
He added, "The Israeli government's decision to cut off supplies of food, water, and electricity to the civilian population threatens not only to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis, but could harden the positions of generations of Palestinians, threaten global support for Israel, serve its enemies, and impede long-term efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region."
According to Obama, despite the United States' support for Israel, we must take a "clear position on the importance of the fighting methods that Israel uses against Hamas."
