Former US President Barack Obama said that global support for Israel has begun to erode because of its practices in Gaza, considering that opposition to Israeli policies in the West Bank and Gaza is not anti-Semitism.

In an article published on the Medium website, Obama said that the dire humanitarian consequences of cutting off food, water, and electricity to Gaza could “harden Palestinian attitudes for generations, undermine global support for Israel, and undermine long-term efforts to achieve peace and stability in Region".

Obama called on the Israeli army to follow strategies that adhere to "international law, including those laws that seek to avoid, to the greatest extent possible, the death or suffering of the civilian population."

Obama criticized the Israeli settlers who interlude, embarrass, and seize Palestinian lands in the West Bank.

Obama pointed out "the tendency of Israeli hardliners in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to accuse Israel's critics of widespread anti-Semitism."
