The latest hideous crime committed in Christchurch city in New Zealand brings to mind painful memories of Al-Rawda Mosque’s attack in Sinai in November 2017 and the similar one that targeted Patriarchal Cathedral in Abbasia in Egypt in 2016.
The two mosques’ death toll in New Zealand rose to 49 people who were performing their Friday prayers in peace and tranquility. Victims represent 0.1% out of 50,000 Muslims living in the country.
It was a shocking assault to such a calm country and this clearly appeared on PM Jacinda Ardern’s face. On the other hand, Al-Rawda mosque's previous attack claimed the lives of 305 innocent people including 27 children during Friday prayers as well. This bloody attack was carried out by using heavy weapons like RPGs, machine guns and explosive charges.
Other similar traumatic assault was the one that targeted the Patriarchal Cathedral in Abbasia in Egypt in 2016 and resulted in the murder of 29 people with an explosive device. So many indications are behind all these bloody crimes and they all prove the similarity between followers of Wahhabism's principle and right-wing extremist groups.
Both thoughts and teachings mainly depend on racism and exclusion of others to the extent of bloodshed. Every time killers choose their victims who embrace different religions and ideologies and they don't care about violating worship places’ sanctities.
These bloody attacks sound the alarm for the flexible and unfailing terrorism move that still implementing its plans and crimes everywhere. Furthermore, it’s time to reconsider status of migrants in western countries who always pay for such crimes although they left their countries seeking only for safe lives.
Finally, we should put an end to violent video games that foster violence behavior and make images of death and killing more and more familiar. I strongly believe that these games were the main reason behind the latest crime’s horrible and reprehensible live broadcast idea.
