Regarding general tips that should be considered while designing a kitchen’s island, Nabil said it never fits kitchens with very small areas.

“A kitchen with an island should have a minimum area of 80*60 cm,” he added.

Furthermore, the sink is highly preferred to be fixed inside the island instead of the cooker and electricity sources should be hidden on the island’s sides in order to enhance safety and protection.

The interior designer stressed that island's surface should be made of granite or marble to be easily cleaned besides choosing good types as artificial marble is more prone to breakage.

He pointed out that direct lights on the island help in finishing work easily and reflect an aesthetic appearance as well.
