Mexican Rice..Gentle Flavored Side Dish

CAIRO, March 14 (SEE)- Mexican basmati rice has a unique flavor as a side dish with chicken or meat and it could be a perfect choice to convert traditional ways of cooking rice.

What distinguishes this recipe is the added spices like cumin and cilantro.

Also, the mixture of garlic, onion and jalapeno pepper give it a gentle taste and texture that you should give it try. Here’s the recipe

Ingredients

1 kilo basmati rice

100 gm oil

1 liter water

100 gm fine chopped onion

100 gm chopped green pepper

50 gm chopped jalapeno pepper

100 gm tomato sauce

4 cubes chicken broth

5 gm black pepper

5 gm cumin

50 gm chopped green cilantro

50 gm chopped garlic cloves

Recipe

In a cooker, add oil and let it heat well, then add chopped onion, green pepper, jalapeno pepper and garlic.

Flip them all and set on heat for 5 minutes.

After that, add tomato sauce, black pepper, cumin and cilantro.

Add the rice and keep flipping for 3 minutes.

In another cooker, heat up water with the chicken broth till boiling then add the water to the rice and flip all components well.

After boiling again, turn heat down and let cook for 20 minutes.
