Maait to “Representatives”: Egyptian Economy Grew by 9% during 1st Q of 2022

Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, said that despite the global crises, the Corona pandemic, or the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, the Egyptian economy was able to achieve growth that reached 9% during the first quarter of the fiscal year 21/22.

While delivering the financial statement on the state’s draft general budget for the fiscal year 2022/2023 at the parliament’s plenary session headed by Counselor Hanafi Jabali, Dr. Maait affirmed that the Egyptian economy was able to deal with these challenges carefully and effectively, and it has achieved positive indicators that call for the solidarity of all political forces.

He pointed out that the results indicate that the growth rate reached 9% compared to the same period last year, despite the challenges facing all countries of the world.
